    WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST

    ROLE OVERVIEW

    Warehouse Specialists assist various Assembly department functions and are an important part of the team's success. They handle inventory organization and control, shipping and receiving, and assembly of kits. This is a great position for someone who likes to be involved in a variety of activities and has an interest in mechanical or electrical machine assembly. The Warehouse Specialist position supports Kwik Lok production activities through the manufacture of Kwik Lok closures with a focus on continuing improvement of quality, food safety, and manufacturing processes.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

    Inventory:

    • Picking and filling parts from stock
    • Cycle counting
    • Inventory control, stocking, rotations, and movements
    • Maintain inventory of packaging material

    Shipping:

    • Fulfilling sales and transfer orders and verifying accuracy of items
    • Build packaging boxes, pallets, and crates
    • Operate forklift to bring pallets down from upper racks
    • Creating freight and parcel shipping quotes
    • Preparing shipping documents (BOLs, customs documentation)
    • Tracking and receiving shipments using NetSuite
    • Use NetSuite to investigate inventory shortages and log updates
    • Responding to issues regarding domestic and international shipments
    • Assist with shipping department coverage when needed

    Other Duties:

    • Pull parts
    • 3-D printing
    • Assembly of small kits
    • Mail runs
    • Communication between departments
    • Daily housekeeping of work areas

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1 year of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
    • Interest in mechanical and electrical machines
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office software and other ERP software, experience with NetSuite a plus
    • Preferred: Forklift operation certification
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screenings
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

    • Pay scale : $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
    • Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (60 day waiting period)
    • Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply)
    • Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year)
      • Vacation: 120 hours a year, with increases based on years of service
      • Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): 1 Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
      • Sick Leave : 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year
    • Other Compensation : Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses
    • Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
    • Location : Yakima, Washington
    • Work environment : Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking. Noise level in office environment 10dB, 85-95 dB in production environment.
