Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse & Procurement Lead to oversee procurement and warehouse operations at our early-phase pharmaceutical manufacturing site. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing procurement activities, including purchasing, warehousing, storage, distribution, and inventory control. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient material flow, vendor compliance, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Vendor Management
Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company and regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, GDP).
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain high-quality materials at the best cost.
Monitor procurement contracts for vendor compliance, schedules, and terms.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audits and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with Finance to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and general ledger concerns.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Oversee the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and supplies.
Ensure accurate inventory tracking through ERP systems (SAP).
Conduct routine cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
Ensure materials are stored and handled according to cGMP and GDP standards.
Supervise the disposal of excess, damaged, or non-usable property.
Coordinate material transfers between warehouse, production, and quality control.
Compliance & Quality Control
Maintain adherence to FDA, GMP, GDP, and OSHA regulations related to procurement and warehousing.
Implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent contamination, errors, or supply chain disruptions.
Work with Quality Assurance to ensure all procured materials meet required specifications.
Review purchasing specifications and consult with department heads to optimize material selection.
Participate in regulatory inspections, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives for procurement and inventory.
Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and policy updates to senior management.
Support other initiatives assigned by management that may not be directly related to procurement and warehousing.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of experience in procurement, warehouse management, or supply chain operations, preferably in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.
Knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP, GDP, and OSHA standards (preferred).
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for procurement and inventory management.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment when needed.
Forklift certification preferred but not required.
