    Position Summary:

    The Wash Operator is responsible for the setup and safe operation of the film granulating and washing equipment in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements to process recyclable film material to resin pellets efficiently and safely.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

    • Set up, adjust, calibrate, and test evaluate equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, flow, speed, temperature, and general operation.

    • Examine visually, weigh, and measure components to ensure machines are produced according to company and industry regulations and standards, making adjustments as needed.

    • Work Review and evaluate material samples from the process, validating size, condition, and composition.

    • Collaborate with team members, shift supervisors, and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise, including communicating those items to team leaders, supervisors, or managers.

    • Communicate with fellow team members to learn of any equipment problems or malfunctions and take care of them as they come up.

    • Utilizes HMI – Human Machine Interface to run and maintain equipment in production. Including specific equipment parameters and performance feedback.

    • Use regulated cleaning solutions, grease guns, oil cans, air hoses, and cleaning cloth to properly maintain and clean equipment per operating guidelines. Preventive maintenance schedules.

    • Make repairs on equipment when necessary and replace all defective, broken, or worn-out components.

    • Cleans and maintains equipment on a repetitive schedule to ensure material flows through the process.

    • Choose and install cutters, mold filters, and all other necessary equipment parts so machines are always operating at peak efficiency.

    • The ability to travel 10% for training purposes.

    • The position shall be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and area utilizing cleaning solutions, pressure washers and other equipment to accomplish the task, meeting 5S and Preventive Maintenance requirements.

    Experience and Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • The education requirement is listed as a high school diploma or GED.

    • A minimum requirement for this U.S.-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

    • Prefer a minimum of 1 year of prior related experience in extrusion operation or a production workspace regulated by OSHA.

    • Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.

    • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.

    • Good follow-through ability: ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    The work environment is on the plant floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and we do expect employees and visitors to wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, while on the plant floor.

    We have a 24/7 process operation. The work schedule for this position is dictated by the need to manage and react to issues on the shifts. The planned schedule for this position is:

    • Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, rotating days off, working every other weekend.

    • Night Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, rotating days off, working every other weekend.

    This position will require the following physical demands.

    • Effectively handle the lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    • Frequently required to: stand, climb stairs, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl; work near moving mechanical parts; work around fumes/airborne particles; work in high, precarious places; exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); exposure to outside weather conditions.

    • Continually required to talk or hear; utilize hand and finger dexterity; utilize close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Forklift, Extruder and HMI The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
