New Sandy Oak Materials is seeking an experienced Wash Plant Operator.
Position Summary
Sandy Oak Materials is a new Frac Sand producer seeking an experienced Wash Plant Operator. The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for operations of the wash plant function and monitoring. Employees are expected to operate all equipment in a safe manner. As a result, basic mechanical skills are required for maintenance of equipment and assistance to overall plant maintenance.
Responsibilities Key duties of the Wash Plant Operator include but are not limited to:
Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures.
Assist maintenance department in maintaining the wash plant equipment.
General labor, as needed

Basic mechanical skills
Able and willing to work extended work schedules, overtime, weekends, and call-ins, as necessary
Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
Ability to be cross-trained to assume other responsibilities
Responsibilities
Management of maintenance and production crews on a 24/7 rotating schedule.
Schedule all maintenance and production activities for wet plant operation.
Ensures all crews pre-shift inspections and JSA’s are completed timely and accurately.
Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup and shutdown procedures, wash plant equipment including relevant computer systems and control panels, pumps, valves, cyclones, density hydrosizers, attritions scrubbers and flotations equipment.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment.
Monitors aggregate flow through the wet plant, recording and reporting processing rate.
Assists with general plant housekeeping including the clearing of waste sand accumulation.
Report any unsafe acts to the plant manager and safety personnel.
Properly train and inform operators of correct operation of equipment to be efficient and safe.
Report all completed task training to safety personnel for documentation.
Assist Plant Maintenance Supervisor and staff in plant related preventative maintenance.
Select, motivate, train, delegate, coach, develop, assess progress, review and reprimand staff as appropriate.
Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to staff; answer questions, and maintains morale.
Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
Requirements
Strong focus on safety and prior MSHA related experience
5+ years hands-on maintenance experience in the mining industry, with specific experience related to wet processing equipment.
3+ years Managing maintenance and production crews in a mining environment
Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
Capable of climbing stairs and access ladders several times per day
Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
Basic mechanical skills (Hand and power tools in an Industrial environment including but not limited to: tool use and maintenance, lubrication, measuring, threads and fasteners, bench works, basic mechanical drawings and basic shop calculations)
Able and willing to work extended schedules, overtime, weekends and call ins, as necessary.
