NEEDED: Waste Collection Worker

LOCATION: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER 400 4th St, Columbus, GA 31901

HOURS: As Needed/ Event Driven, 7 days a week, Monday-Sunday, 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM

DRESS CODE: Black or brown shoes and black pants

REQUIREMENTS:

• Dependable Transportation
• Dependable and punctual attendance

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Rides the back of the truck; grabs cans; empties cans into the truck.
• Washes the truck twice a week.
• Cleans fleet yard twice a week.
• Assists in resolving complaints.
• Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes, and work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of safety precautions. Knowledge of department policies and procedures. Skill in oral communication.

Educational and Training Requirements:

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is typically performed while standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping.
• Frequently lifts heavy objects
