  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Identify trends, periodically analyze equipment/machine problems, perform necessary adjustments on manufacturing equipment, identify root causes and initiate corrective actions.

    ** PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

    • Oversee the Waste Water Treatment system at the plant
    • Coordinate efforts between operations and engineering functions
    • Set up spare parts, optimize PMs, keep process parameters updated
    • Identify best practices and create standards combining available information & knowledge.
    • Follow plant safety and environmental policies, and keep work areas clean and orderly
    • Utilize plant systems e.g. SAP, MES, OPCON, Promaster, tableau, etc.
    • Utilize IPN resources where necessary

    ** Primary Responsibilities:**

    • Operate, monitor, and maintain the chemical, water purification and wastewater treatment systems
    • Handle, transport, organize, and process hazardous and non-hazardous wastes for the facility
    • Operate SCADA interface to interpret trends, operate and troubleshoot systems
    • Perform daily inspections, take daily equipment readings and perform corrective actions
    • Self-motivated and disciplined to perform tasks and assigned duties with little supervision
    • Work effectively with other members of the HSE/ Waste Water Treatment group on improvement projects and plant operations
    • Respond to plant emergencies to limit or prevent environmental impacts
    • Provide assistance and information to MOEs for chemical and equipment disposition/ disposal/ handling
    • Active member of the Emergency Response Team ****
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** QUALIFICATIONS**
    • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Must be at least 18 years or older
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervision and other personnel with the ability to create clear technical instructions
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
    • Must be able to function in a noisy and fast paced environment
    • Demonstrates self-initiative
    • Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing assembly or machining
    • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, print-reading and mechanics
    • Must demonstrate mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork
    • Must be willing to work on alternate shifts and must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes
    • Must be flexible to work other shifts for training, coaching, projects and travel as needed

    Must have assessed into SpecTech job category

    ** Competencies and qualifications:**

    _ Required_

    • Forklift license or have ability to acquire and maintain license
    • Shall obtain a level D physical/ chemical wastewater license within 18 months
    • Able to handle physical demands of job: lifting, carrying, work from ladders, climb stairs
    • Able to work in outside weather conditions which may include heat, cold and rain
    • Willing to work overtime as necessary which may include holidays

    _ Preferred_

    • Electrical background, ability to work on and troubleshoot pumps, motors, valves, piping systems
    • Experience, knowledge or strong desire to learn RsLogix, iFix, VB 6 programming
    • Electrical background in 5- 24 VDC, 4- 20 mA circuits, 120- 480 VAC
    • PC knowledge, networking
    • Level B Physical/ Chemical Wastewater Treatment License or desire to obtain
    • Experience with HMI creation for SCADA system
    • A.S. Degree, Apprenticeship Graduate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • General knowledge of chemistry, chemical background

    ** SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**

    The pay for this position starts at $30.51/ hour plus shift differential for non-first shift hours worked.
