Our Web Strategists work to find and propose web-based solution(s) to both potential and existing clients, ensuring they get the most out of their website. Previous training in sales strategy and/or experience meeting and crushing goals is a key indicator you might be right for the web strategist position.
We are looking for someone that LOVES the "high" of meeting and exceeding goals, but still disciplined about signing right fit clients to right fit projects.
tl;dr
- Pay: First-year total comp approximately $70-$90k (including base and bonuses), second year total comp $75k-$95k

- What to Expect: Client-facing meetings, custom proposal/quote writing, account management, hundreds of inbound leads annually, day-to-day autonomy with team accountability.

The Qualifications We Are Looking For:
- Previous sales training or measurable experience consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Confidence in closing a deal
- Strategic and problem-solving mind - i.e. enjoys breaking complex problems into clear action steps
- Live in or near Bloomington, IL or Chicago, IL or have a willingness to relocate.
- Kind and collaborative spirit that can work both individually and in team settings
- Desire to find a long-term employment solution and commitment to at least 3 years on the team
You'll Stand Out if You Have:
- Love of or background in design, or previous experience in the branding and marketing industry.
- Previous experience building a website or using a website CMS (content management system)
- Transferrable or related experience in visual design and/or project management
- An understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and other web marketing strategies (paid advertising, social media marketing, etc.)
- The experience using some of our core systems like: Proposify, HubSpot, website content management systems, Google Ads, and Google Analytics.
Web Strategist Job Duties:
- Build relationships with our leads, seeking to understand their pain points & identifying opportunities where Cybernautic can act as the guide.
- Visualize the client's website sitemap and translate that to a detailed proposal — understanding needs and requirements, yes, but also making strategic recommendations related to types of pages and/or website functionality to enhance user experience.
- Based on client feedback, craft a great website and web marketing proposal that meets (and sometimes exceeds) the client's wants and needs at a fair price.
- Have confidence moving conversations forward with a customer when the fit is right.
- Be more than just a door opener. You must be a closer; one that appreciates the thrill of signing and exceeding your goals.
- Capable of brushing off each"No" and "Bad Fit" to get you one step closer to meeting the customer that is a "Yes"
- Coordinate with the Project Manager & our whole team, playing the role of client advocate to knock projects out of the park!
Pay and Growth Opportunities:
- Base salary with a quarterly bonus structure based on meeting and exceeding individual one-time and recurring service sales goals.
- With no cap to the quarterly bonus plan, your total comp is in your hands.
- Possibilities for owning certain department or cross-department projects, ability to contribute to process improvements, and opportunity for cross-departmental training in some areas.
