Position: Sheet Metal Bench Operator
Location: Weld Room
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in assembly and sheet metal bench operations, working within a machine shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts and components based on blueprints and technical drawings.
- Perform deburring, polishing, and finishing to meet quality standards.
- Operate hand tools and machinery such as grinders, sanders, air-powered grinders and press brakes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety guidelines.
- Monitor machine operations, measure parts for accuracy using inspection tools, and make necessary adjustments under minimal supervision to achieve specified results.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces following 5S methodologies.
- Collaborate with team members and perform tasks in various shop areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace sheet metal fabrication and deburring processes.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and work orders.
- Manual dexterity to handle small, delicate parts alongside standard measuring tools.
- Vision requirements: Corrected near and far vision of 20/30 in both eyes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, kneel, and perform manual tasks.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels and occasional airborne particles.
