Position Overview:
Welder/Fabricator with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience welding precision parts with tight tolerances and fabrication of ASME Code pressure vessels. Must be able to produce quality welds passing x-ray and other forms of non-destructive and destructive testing. This position consists of full-time employment with occasional overtime. Candidates must have a broad knowledge of welding and the ability to fit, and weld complete, a wide range of products and materials with little to no assistance. Welders must demonstrate a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for welding/fabricating and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Successful completion of a relevant weld apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Must possess a valid welding certification by the American Welding Society (AWS) or a similar certification.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Strong understanding of structural weldments involving fitted pipe work, flanges and structural materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Experienced and proficient with vessel, pipe and structural welding per ASME Code.
- Perform welding tasks according to ASME code standards. • Experienced with both MIG and TIG welding.
- Experienced with welding primarily carbon steels and stainless steels.
- Experienced with using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
- Experienced with utilization of support equipment i.e. sand blasters, hydraulic presses, grinders, hand tools, etc.
- Experienced with fork truck operation.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE. (Face-shield, gloves, Safety footwear, Safety glasses, etc.).
- Fluent in English with the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate in a timely manner.
- Must be able to pass a welding certification test (x-ray) to verify proficiency in welding techniques and codes.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, and move about facility for prolonged periods
- Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds
- Flexibility as needed
