We are currently seeking Welders to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Required Education : A high school diploma or GED. A minimum of ten years of experience welding materials such as stainless steel (300, 400 and 17-4 PH series, aluminum 5000 and 6000 series), medium and mild steel, HY-80,100, HSLA-80 and 100 steel, pipe, structural steel, nickel aluminum, and bronze alloy. The ability to document weld parameters including heat input, travel speed, voltage, amperage, weld pass arrangement, and other parameters as specified. The ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal communications to perform work. Experience setting up equipment independently to perform all Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) (TIG), and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) (MIG).
Desired Education : Ability to collect data using ultrasonic devices and precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, vernier, electronic protractors, squares, height gauges, depth gauges, indicators, and micrometers. Ability to perform visual inspections of welds magnified and unmagnified. Provide welders skilled in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW welding processes. Provide AWS certification for the relevant welding application prior to the commencement of work.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
