Seeking a skilled Welding Inspector to join our team as an on-call team member. Work onsite at some of the most iconic buildings in New England and in our 5,000 sq. ft. facility in Canton. Be an important part of keeping today’s buildings safe and healthy for the future.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Inspect welds, welded connections, rebar, etc., on construction site buildings to ensure work meets industry standards and customer specifications as per technical drawings and specifications.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with our engineers and other technicians; report directly to Construction Materials Testing Lab Director.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Write accurate reports in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
Certified Welder (CW) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS)
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) from AWS or equivalent certification from another recognized organization
Must have proven experience in welding techniques
Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) experience is a plus
Must have general computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel).
Ability to keep detailed field notes, record data, and write reports.
Ability to read plans and specifications.
Must be able to work safely and independently.
Ability to lift 75 lbs., walk/work on uneven surfaces, work outside in various weather conditions and from heights.
OSHA-10 preferred
Must be authorized to work in the US.
General Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
Must have good organization skills, the ability to focus on details, and the ability to follow directions, both written and oral.
Must be punctual and reliable.
Must have a desire to learn.
Good communication (listening, speaking, writing) skills.
Clean record with CORI and other background checks; must be able to pass random drug tests.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation.
Must wear attire appropriate with safety regulations. Work boots necessary as per ANSI Z-41. Hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses are provided.
