     General Summary:

    Under the general supervision of the Manager-FMLA Services, provides support and guidance to employees, supervisors, and individuals involved in the FMLA process through telephone contact, computer contact, and meetings. Documents in the database and prepares reports pertinent to FMLA.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

       1   Using a variety of systems, maintains appropriate record keeping in accordance with FMLA and system guidelines.

       2   Offers guidance and assistance to employees and supervisors with information and explanation of the FMLA process.

       3   Communicates with employees and supervisors concerning timekeeping and pay information as it relates to the FMLA process.

       4   Interacts and maintains regular contact with employees and supervisors and responds appropriately and efficiently to requests for service and/or assistance. Answers questions/inquiries to resolve questions and concerns orally or in writing.

       5   Intakes leave requests, sending required notices, forms, and letters to determine eligibility. Ensures federal compliance of leaves and notices.

       6   Tracks leave time, working with employees and supervisors to ensure proper management of FMLA eligible hours.

       7   Determines continued eligibility for short term disability (STD).

       8   Maintains time records for employees on both full and/or intermittent leaves of absence determining when the waiting week has been satisfied. Using specific pay codes, enters STD, sick, or PTO leave hours based on the type and the length of the leave.

       9   After payroll processing is completed, makes appropriate adjustments to employee’s time record based on revisions.

    10   Assists with the coordination of the return to work process, including accommodation requests and leave expirations.

    11   Interacts with other departments within the company, including IT, HR, and Employee Health to ensure steady continuation of care.

    12   Establishes and maintains accurate information within the database.

    13   Generates and prepares reports on a regular basis to analyze leave data.

    Required Skills

    Minimum Experience:   3-5 years customer service, emphasis on telephone contact

    • Preferred to have FMLA & ADA knowledge and experience; Healthcare experience
