GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and under the direction of the Radiologist, performs invasive radiographic procedures at an intermediate skills level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Performs interventional vascular procedures. 2 Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately. 3 Scrubs with physician as required. 4 Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. 5 Positions and transfers patients comfortably. 6 Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures. 7 Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams. 8 Performs duties as on call technologist. Trains new staff. Has passed the VI specialty exam as per ARRT. 9 Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department. 10 Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.

Required Skills

Associate's Degree from Accredited program in radiologic technology. Training in special procedures preferred ARRT Certification Required BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required

3 - 5 years’ experience required
