Job Title: Wellness Coordinator
Job Summary
Develops, organizes, implements, and monitors a range of health and wellness programs based on member's requests, research, and previous successes.
Essential Functions
• On site-Wellness Coordinator will provide leadership for a comprehensive wellness program.
• Research and develop strategies to enhance programs and motivate staff to achieve individual and organization goals.
• Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles. • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program materials and information. • Develop new ideas to market personal training and paid programming. • Assist and schedule with equipment maintenance and repairs. • Engage members in areas of recommendations, program and equipment feedback, areas of concern. • Assist Director with use of facilities and equipment for program activities and special events. • Compile program statistics; evaluate effectiveness of, and participation in, programs; make recommendations based on data. • Manage, monitor, and report on issues of safety and security. • Manage wellness and personal trainer staff schedules • Assists the team in procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness programs.
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect.
• Keeping all required certifications up to date in all areas of wellness.
Education & Experience:
• Associates/Bachelors degree in health education or health & science.
• Five or more years of experience in wellness program development.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to move objects weighing 20 plus pounds a short distance.
• Ability to reach, bend, stretch, and climb stairs.
• Ability to thoroughly clean and sanitize machines both weight and cardio machines.
• Ability to engage sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform and demonstrate essential functions, and supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
• Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of using weights.
• Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing,
