  • Responsibilities

    Position Overview:

    We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician responsible for ensuring that all operational machinery and systems within our site are functioning efficiently. This role involves proactive and reactive upkeep duties to prevent breakdowns and address emerging issues.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Assemble, install, and fix various mechanical and electrical systems following technical guidelines or blueprints.

    • Evaluate machine performance and conduct diagnostic tests to identify malfunctions.

    • Disassemble equipment to inspect components, fine-tune mechanisms, or replace worn-out parts; perform lubrication and cleaning.

    • Maintain optimal performance across all tools and systems, aiming to minimize unplanned disruptions.

    • Coach staff on best practices for operating equipment safely and effectively.

    • Execute routine inspections and preventive maintenance procedures; suggest improvements where applicable.

    • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, including service records, cost reports, and installation notes.

    • Ensure documentation aligns with internal safety policies and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.

    Preferred Skills and Background:

    • Completion of secondary education or technical certification in a related trade.

    • Hands-on experience with electrical systems and mechanical upkeep.

    • Exposure to the print production sector is advantageous.

    • Understanding of machinery like printing presses, folding units, trimming machines, and related support devices.

    • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic components.

    • Competence in reading schematics and system diagrams (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic).

    • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and micrometers.

    • Comfortable using basic computer programs and data entry systems.

    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes quickly.

    • Collaborative approach with strong communication skills.

    • Capability to remain composed in a fast-paced industrial environment.

    • Willingness to assist in resolving team conflicts constructively.

    • Availability during peak operational times, including occasional overtime.

    Working Conditions:

    • Regularly engaged in shop floor activities with exposure to industrial substances and noise.

    • Required to use safety equipment and may need to work directly on production lines.

    • Must be physically able to perform various motions, including standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
