Job Description

West Coast Informatics is hiring Java Software Developer to build cloud applications to solve complicated problems involving healthcare data, terminologies, and data models.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work independently to write Java Spring Boot microservices RESTful applications
• Leverage Elasticsearch, Postgres, Docker, and AWS cloud infrastructure
• Develop features to interact with structured healthcare terminologies and knowledge bases
• Help train machine learning models for Natural Language Processing (NLP), healthcare terminology word embeddings, and classification models
• Solve interesting problems involving healthcare data and data models
• Use your communication and interpersonal skills to update internal and customer facing teams
• Must be authorized to work in the US (Permanent Resident or US Citizen)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in software development, computer engineering, or other related fields
• Proficiency in Java (with at least 8 years of experience)
• Experience writing Spring Boot applications and search technologies such as Lucene/Elasticsearch
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as TypeScript, REST, HTML5, Angular
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL/Postgres
• Experience developing REST APIs in a microservices environment
