Job Description
AECOM is seeking a strong Biology or Ecology focused candidate with Wetland, Soils, Environmental Science, GIS or Environmental Permitting experience and preferably with all of these skills. This position is within our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) Practice in the Northeast US. This role is to support our Power/Electric Transmission market sector, federal/state/local and industrial client sectors. Focus will be supporting and executing projects related to electrical transmission infrastructure, and renewables including offshore wind interconnects, solar development projects, as well as industrial, commercial, and state/federal projects including ecosystem restoration projects. Ability to lead or co-lead wetland delineations and wildlife surveys, assist in project permitting and utilize GIS skills to produce project deliverables desirable. The position is based in New England and may be partially remote, for the right candidate. This position will require time split in field and office settings.
Prior experience supporting natural resources field studies, surveys and environmental permitting of electrical transmission projects with particular focus in Massachusetts, CT, RI and NH highly desirable.
Experience with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act Regulations, MEPA, Section 404/401 and strong writing and verbal communications skills desired. The successful candidate will be joining one of the strongest and deepest Environmental Permitting and Planning Practices Teams in the northeast with an extensive backlog of project work in multiple client sectors and a strong presence in the renewable energy arena.
