  • Responsibilities

    SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

    ‬‬‬ Responsibilities

    • Conduct evaluations and assessments of wetland environments, including hydrology, soil, and vegetation components.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the restoration, conservation, and management of wetland areas.
    • Develop and implement project plans to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on disaster resilience projects involving wetland management.
    • Prepare detailed reports, maps, and presentations for internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.
    • Stay updated on current regulations, technologies, and methodologies in wetland science.

    Requirements

    • Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration, or
      • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
    • Certification:
      • Professional Wetlands Scientist (PWS) Certification is required.
    • Strong knowledge of wetland assessment techniques and ecological principles.
    • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
    • Completion of the following FEMA Independent Study Courses is preferred:
    • * IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
      
      • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
      • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
      • IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review.
    • Work onsite in North Carolina.
    • EOD Required.
