    Job Description

    WIELAND METAL SERVICES is looking for a highly motivated & result-driven INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE (WORKING IN PARSIPPANY, NJ) with excellent interpersonal skills to actively engage current customers as well as customer prospects. 

    _The purpose of the INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE is to provide superior customer service from inception of order through delivery of products and services. _ This position is responsible for selling products to and servicing an existing customer base. The Inside Sales Representative will also grow their current customer list and bring on new clients.  This role will collaborate with Outside Sales, Production, and other internal departments to understand and optimize forecasts, inventory, and timeliness of deliverables.  The Inside Sales Representative works under the general supervision of the Inside Sales Manager and performs a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity.

    INSIDE SALES REP RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through courteous, honest, and trustworthy communication
    • Complete understanding of all products and services provided by Wieland Metal Services
    • Responsible for customer contracts and providing appropriate sales quotes and accurate pricing, including payment terms
    • Partner with Outside Sales to generate new and repeat sales
    • Process orders, prepare correspondence and fulfill customer needs
    • Research and resolve product and/or service issues to ensure complete satisfaction
    • Service customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
    • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets.
    • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
    • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
    • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
    • Maintain records on customer sales.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 1-3 years experience as an Inside Sales Rep or Customer Support Specialist
    • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and sales management tools and databases
    • Solid understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within sales and distribution. Metal industry experience is a strong plus
    • Exceptional people skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Some college (or equivalent) experience in customer service. College degree preferred.
    • Acts professionally, displays courteous, pleasant, and professional communication skills via e-mail, Teams, telephone, and face-to-face, in dealing with customers, both external and internal.
    • Ability to work flexible work hours if required by the job
