Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

· Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects *
· Coordinates efforts of engineers and technical support staff in performance of assigned projects*
· Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity *
· Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with designers or hardware engineers
· Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
· Reviews literature, patents & current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects *
· Reviews the completion and implementation of technical products *
· Serves as technical expert on development projects
· Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services
· Provides technical consultation to other departments

Required Skills

Required Experience

• Bachelors’ degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related field or equivalent
• Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience
• Working knowledge of current operating systems and programming languages, including Java and Python
• Experience with video and Imagery processing
• Experience with development of Android applications
• Experience with command and control systems
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with development in the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) software development kit
• sUAS experience
• Experience with TAK Server plugins
• Experience with cellular and wireless technologies
• Secret Security Clearance
