Structural Engineer
Our Kansas City, MO office is currently seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to support our structural team. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of railroad projects. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who enjoys being part of a team performing office and field work.
Regular job duties include design and detailing railroad & highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, drainage structures, and light industrial structures. Candidate must be able to perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
In addition to design and inspection tasks listed, the candidate will be expected to lead the structural design of small to medium sized projects and mentor entry-level staff in design and production of construction drawings. Communication is key for this position. The candidate will need to communicate effectively to direct entry-level staff as well as provide reports and updates to senior-level staff and clients. The candidate will need to be able to work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines.
