EDITING COORDINATOR
Reports to Editing Manager
The Editing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the editing of text resources from Word on Fire, including books, essays, video scripts, periodicals, and internal documents.
LOCATION: Remote
EMPLOYMENT: Full-time
Responsibilities
Copyedit various Word on Fire texts, using the Word on Fire Style Guide
Update new book manuscripts to conform to our in-house format and style guide
Review book manuscripts at each stage of the editing process to ensure changes requested by copyeditors and proofreaders were correctly incorporated
Review on-screen text appearing in Word on Fire videos
Compile text for various projects, including the Word on Fire Bible series, Word on Fire’s Daily Gospel Reflections, and other text collections
Assist with research, indexing, and proofreading
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in English, Writing, Journalism, Theology, or related fields
Strong familiarity with the Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church, and magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church
Strong attention to detail, especially with textual content
Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word (including Track Changes)
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the fields of editing and/or publishing, especially with theological texts
Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style
Familiarity with the work of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire
