    ** POSITION PURPOSE:**

    North Wind Services has an opening in Los Alamos, NM for a Work Control Planner to develop and review work packages, encompassing time, material, and labor estimates, along with crafting detailed work instructions, procedures, and safety/testing requirements. The successful candidate will focus on assessing the workability of design plans, necessitating a versatile individual with expertise in electrical, mechanical, and sheet metal domains. The successful candidate will conduct constructability reviews, complete review cycles, and make necessary adjustments.

    This position demands familiarity with MS Office, spreadsheet proficiency, and the ability to navigate SharePoint sites. The successful candidate should have a strong background in construction, mechanical, or electrical fields with the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance. This position is initially onsite but may transition to a hybrid role.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assessing the workability of design plans.
    • Completing 30-60-90% review cycles, making changes along the way to help with the end product.
    • Conduct field walk-downs to verify equipment information and ensure alignment with documentation.
    • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently for documentation and data management purposes.
    • Demonstrate expertise in understanding and interpreting complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including maintenance teams, engineers, and facility managers.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of work hazards, safety practices, and plant operating procedures to ensure compliance and safety in all work activities.
    • Provide excellent communication and customer service skills to facilitate effective communication with internal teams and external partners.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance planning, facility management, or related roles.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data management.
    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of work hazards, safety practices, and plant operating procedures.
    • Strong ability to interpret complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.

    Special Requirements:

    Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Relevant certifications in facility management, maintenance planning, or related fields are a plus.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time but will also be required to stand, walk, and communicate with others.

    Work typically performed indoors in an office environment.
