Workers Compensation Attorney | The Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm
Salary: $80,000/year - $140,000/year DOE

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Workers Compensation Attorney to join our dynamic team at the Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm. With a team of experienced attorneys, we are dedicated to providing exceptional legal representation to our clients. We pride ourselves on our commitment to justice and ensuring that injured workers receive the compensation they deserve. You will be responsible for representing clients in workers' compensation cases and providing expert legal counsel to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their workers' compensation claims, provide legal advice, and assess the merits of each case while demonstrating empathy.
- Case Management: Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring all deadlines are met using SmartAdvocate case management software.
- Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research to support your cases and stay current with changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, petitions, and settlement agreements.
- Negotiation: Negotiate with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties to secure favorable settlements for clients. Secure TTD benefits, PPD benefits and medical care for plaintiffs.
- Court Representation: Represent clients at workers' compensation IWCC hearings, trials, and appeals, presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, insurance adjustors, and opposing council to provide updates on case progress and answer their questions.
- Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution: Explore and engage in mediation or alternative dispute resolution processes to expedite case resolution when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active licensure to practice law in Illinois.
- 0-5 years of experience
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality legal services.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
