Overview of the Role:
The Workroom Associate is an active member of the donation receiving team and plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing of donations. This position requires someone friendly, positive, and committed to delivering excellent interactions with donors and customers while upholding the mission and values of Neat Repeats and the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.
Key Responsibilities:
Gratefully receive and process donations, offering donation forms when needed.
Sort donations, ensuring a high standard of saleable merchandise while identifying items for recycling.
Organize and prepare recyclable goods, including textiles and leather items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the donation receiving area.
Transport merchandise to the sales floor and assist with creating attractive displays.
Collaborate with team members and support managers in various operational tasks.
Assist with online sales merchandise preparation for shipping or customer pick-up.
Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Valid Driver’s License.
Experience:
1 year in customer service.
1 year in warehouse or related roles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
A good driving record meeting insurer requirements.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and productively.
Team-oriented with sound judgment.
Special Requirements:
Completion of 40-hour domestic violence training (provided if not yet completed).
Comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional local travel for donation-related activities.
