    THE WORLD EQUESTRIAN CENTER located in Ocala, Florida is searching for a SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN to join our team!

    The SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN works with the Social and Content Specialist to assist in implementing social media strategy across a variety of channels for the World Equestrian Center - Ocala brand and its subsidiaries. This role will include managing a variety of social channels by curating, creating and publishing unique content across relevant social media platforms. The Social Media Intern also provides quality customer service and hospitality by engaging with customers and guests via inbox messages, public-facing reviews, and site comments among other duties in the social sphere.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with Social and Content Specialist to schedule, publish and promote content on social platforms with meaningful and relevant messaging consistent with brand voice and audience
    • Update and maintain content and editorial calendars used for organizing platform publications
    • Assist in building and executing social strategy, meeting weekly with key stakeholders
    • Capture and curate relevant daily stories for social platforms
    • Engage with social users across social channels, including review platforms, and moderate and respond to user-generated content in line with brand policies
    • Update social presence as needed (menu changes, cover feature updates, content audits, etc.)
    • Assist in planning and execution of formal and informal photoshoots to generate relevant content and create content campaigns
    • Track and analyze social statistics, KPIs and other efforts
    • Provide updates on industry and field trends; develop new strategy or content in line with what’s influencing in mass market media and hospitality sector
    • Support other departments to create social hype, promote or cover campus events
    • Attend events as needed to gather social stories and other content

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Interest in social media marketing or digital media
    • Strong writing, editing, and communications skills
    • Ability to respond to direction and manage time effectively and efficiently
    • BS or working toward degree in Communications, Marketing, English, PR, New Media, Business or another relevant field
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Drive, Hootsuite, and Photoshop preferred
