SUMMARY: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers by helping installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures, including CMMS and/or EAM systems.
- Implement lean enterprise activities within the production facility to aid in its continued growth and development.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs, working towards predictive versus preventative maintenance of assets.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Required Skills
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or industrial technology.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance manager.
- Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/Lean/TQM manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis.
- Must possess good verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Exposure to continuous operation manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with executing process optimization initiatives.
