Examine body text, headlines, decks, captions, credits, charts and all other editorial components for spelling, grammar and style.

Health

Focus on key issues in the organization’s priority areas focused on health, including healthy living, diet, fitness, disease prevention and more.

Develop creative approaches to stories in conjunction with the Health editor.

Partner with Health editor and copy editors to streamline stories, answer questions and determine coverage gaps in online content.

Advocacy

Report, write and update items for the Fighting for You Ticker, focused on advocacy and wins on a state and national level.

Summarize complex legislative developments and their impact into a digestible format for readers.

Collaborate and connect with government affairs, issues areas and other parts of the organization to find news and content.

Annotate stories thoroughly so researchers can check the facts with minimal additional digging and upload transcripts of interviews.

States Writing

Report and write state guides, including election guides, tax guides, COVID guides, disaster guides and others.

Monitor news developments and make changes to update guides as needed, often on a quick turnaround basis.
