    POSITION TITLE  : Duck Creek Solution Architect

    CAPABILITY        : Technology and Core Systems

    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

    This is a technical position that requires 15+ years’ experience in IT combined with strong application design & development skills in Duck Creek Platform. The Solution Architect works very closely with System Owners, Architects, the Agile Teams and Stakeholders to provide architectural direction of a project. Demonstrated experience designing solutions on the Duck Creek platform is required. This position will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing innovative end-to-end solution architectures that enable client’s strategic objectives.  Designs produced must meet both business and non-functional requirements while aligning to standard reference architectures

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (INCLUDING KEY COMPETENCIES):

     CORE SKILLS:

    •  Knowledge gained through broad or deep experience in designing and implementing robust enterprise level solutions with Duck Creek suite of products – Policy , Claims Billing , Rating and Data Insights.  
    • Should be able to orchestrate the core product and other related applications to achieve/ monitor application’s performance milestones. Should well versed with concepts like clustering, replication etc.
    • Experience in designing and implementing solutions within the Duck Creek platform, aligning to OOB features and best practices.  
    • Ability to drive clear, effective, and innovative solution designs aligning to The DuckCreek reference architectures, blueprints, and business and IT strategies and Enterprise landscape. 
    • Deep knowledge of Duck Creek platform from backend i.e., core architecture, features, and limitations. With comparative view on prior versions and latest platform versions(7.1 above)
    • Wide experience across various Duck Creek customer-implementations , with diverse flavor on implementation approaches, leveraging  various integration utils or accelerators provided by Duck Creek and/or developing internally .
    • Experience with developing reusable assets such as prototypes, solution designs, documentation and other materials that contribute to department and organization effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Understanding of DCOD, hybrid cloud, and container deployment architectures including building cloud-ready applications and container orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes). Experience designing and implementing API-based integrations with clear understanding of JSON, REST and HTTP standards.  Experience integrating both modern and legacy systems.
    • A broad understanding of traditional and modern software technology frameworks, platforms, vendor software solutions, development tools, and processes.
    • Experience working with agile development teams, methodologies, and toolsets.
    • Experience with DevOps practices including but not limited to continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) concepts and tools, familiarity with automated testing and code analysis tools.
    • The incumbent must have strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills with ability to effectively communicate solution recommendations and influence key stakeholders.
    • Be a self-motivated individual with strong analytical and research skills; Can handle multiple high priority demands; and can be detail oriented, yet still be able to have clarity on the overall picture.
    • Proficiency in designing and developing complex IT systems and assessing and evaluating alternative solutions.
    • A strong desire to stay on top of technology trends in the Insurance Industry and Emerging Technology space.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of 15+ years’ experience, with relevant Duck Creek experience least of 8+ Years

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

    •  Familiar with business process design concepts and principles.
    • Familiarity with insurance products, rules, and methodologies desirable

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Primary accountability for the position involves establishing and driving clear, effective, and innovative solution designs aligning to The DuckCreek reference architectures, blueprints, and business and IT strategies and Enterprise landscape. 

    • Responsible for conceptualizing and designing architectures within the Duck Creek platform that enable strategic initiatives & technology objectives that consider strategic alignment, scale, reliability, security, complexity, and cost.

    • Ensuring solutions maximize the use of out of the box Duck Creek capabilities and configuration while limiting customization to the platform.

    • Participation with agile teams to ensure architecture standards are being maintained

    • End-to-end, cross functional system design in conjunction of Duck Creek products and related integration /automation as desired by client.

    • Contribute to the evolving reference architecture and product/technology roadmap, with consideration of client’s IT landscape , and transformation to future state.

    • Work with other team members to design solutions with elicitation of product features. Execute Proofs of Concepts to test architectural elements of the core-product and integration.

    • Establish and apply standard design/integration patterns including in new/complex situations

    • Work with Duck Creek teams and other teams to research, define and execute system optimal design for implementation and integrations.

    • Operate with no required supervision in a complex environment and acts independently to take decisions and/or propose alternate design and implementation approaches for moderate and complex business problem.

    • Familiar with Joint Application Design (JAD) session, prototyping, Conference Room Pilot (CRP), and similar approaches and principles

    • Work closely with the senior technical resources from Duck Creek , Customer, and external partners, to interpret and translate business requirements into a solution technical design.

    • Lead Product workshops & discovery ,enabling fit-gap analysis. Be able to simplify technical solution to customer to explain how the components of each applications interact to each other.

    • Actively participates in review of configuration of the Policy & billing implementation  approaches, ensuring effective transition of knowledge, design assumptions and development expectations.

    • Take a leadership role in developing technical scope, approach, and implementation estimates.

    • Collaborates with the client’s product-owner & business to ensure proper understanding of the functional needs and ensure they translate into solution designs.

    • Works across the Architecture teams to ensure the application components align with the application architecture and meet application performance goals

    • Identifies and address application and data issues that affect application integrity.

    • Identifies cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect the business architecture integrity.

    • Serves as a trusted advisor of the customer

    • Leads and Participates in Conformance Review(s)

    • Facilitation experience for conducting demos, discovery sessions, conformance sessions  stakeholder agreement meetings etc.
