    The Opportunity:

    We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afternoon Assistant to support our Infant and Toddler (ages 3 mos. to 3 years old ) classrooms from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday. This role is ideal for someone just starting out in the Early Childhood Education profession and looking for a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Montessori setting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with afternoon chores, including tidying up and organizing classroom materials.
    • Provide breaks to teachers, ensuring continuous supervision and support for the children.
    • Help with the smooth operation of the classrooms, engaging with children and supporting their activities.
    • Participate in closing down the classrooms at the end of the day, ensuring a clean and orderly environment for the next day.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Completion of at least 12 college-level early childhood education credits, including at least three credits in infant/toddler care and development
    • Enjoy working with young children
    • Are warm, joyful, and professional;
    • Have valid CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to become CPR and first aid-certified before you begin employment;
    • Have negative TB test results within the last 12 months or willingness to take a TB test which show negative results before your first day of employment; and
    • Are a US citizen or green card holder.

    We are especially interested in candidates who:

    • A passion for working with young children and a strong interest in the Montessori method.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the classroom and school community.
    • Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
    • Prior experience in a childcare setting is a plus, but not required.
