The Opportunity. We are conducting a search for a MACTE-trained primary Montessori guide for Ad Astra, a new, high-quality authentic Montessori school in Bastrop, Texas, scheduled to open in summer 2024.

Nestled on the banks of the Colorado River, Bastrop is a quintessential Texas town surrounded by rolling hills, steeped in history, and brimming with hospitality. The city of Austin is a short drive away, giving Bastrop's 10,000 residents the best of both worlds – big-city amenities and small-town charm. Bastrop is quickly becoming the home of a number of leading-edge tech companies including The Boring Company, Neuralink, SpaceX, and Tesla.

Through your efforts, children will fulfill their developmental potential with authentically prepared, exceptionally executed Montessori curriculum. As a member of the school's founding team, you will have the additional privilege of helping to design your environments and shape the school into one of the world's finest.

About Ad Astra. Ad Astra, a non-profit educational institution, is partnering with Xplor Education to form an innovative Montessori school to benefit the local community. While their parents support the breakthroughs that expand the realm of human possibility, their children will grow into the next generation of innovators in a way that only authentic Montessori can provide.

With both Primary and Lower Elementary environments, Ad Astra (which means “to the stars”) will be located on a former horse ranch on some-forty acres of Texas plain.

Invitation to Apply. We encourage you to apply if you hold a MACTE-recognized Primary diploma; are experienced working with children aged 3 - 6 years old; and are available to join our community in July 2024.

We may prefer you over other candidates if you:

• Hold an AMI Primary diploma;
• Have earned bachelor's and/or master's degrees in any subject;
• Have five or more years' experience as a Montessori guide;
• Currently live in the greater Austin area;
• Possess the skills and experience to additionally assume Head of School responsibilities
