Customer Service Specialist (Full-Time)

LOCATION: Urbandale, IA

Starting at $17.50/hour

As the Customer Service Specialist, you will provide professional customer service to both internal and external customers. You will collaborate with customers, our Customer Service team, our Operations and Sales team, to assist our customers and resolve issues.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON A TYPICAL DAY:

· Assist customers via phone, email and web chat with inquiries including, but not limited to: tracing shipments, rate quotes, scheduling pickups and billing and/or invoicing questions.

· Perform general clerical duties as assigned, including, but not limited to: answering and directing phone calls and light data entry.

· Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days and early evenings, Monday thru Friday.

· Enjoy a casual dress code (blue jeans are OK).

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AT YRC FREIGHT:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

· Strong computer, typing and 10-key skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)

· High School Diploma

IT’D BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

· Previous Customer Service Experience

· Transportation experience

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Some college education (Technical, Associates, BA)
