    We are seeking an experienced Yacht Captain to manage and operate a privately owned yacht.

    This position is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong emphasis on safety, customer service, and hospitality, as well as a proven track record of managing larger yachts.

    **** Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the safe operation and navigation of the yacht.
    • Supervise the vessel and crew, taking full responsibility for the safety of the ship’s passengers, crew, and the vessel itself.
    • Maintain a safe course using standard navigation aids such as compass, GPS, and radar, and operate electronic equipment like radios and depth finders.
    • Record daily activities and maintain vessel logs as required.
    • Manage all aspects of vessel maintenance, including preventative and corrective repairs, ensuring the yacht remains in pristine condition.
    • Oversee and assist crew engaged in cleaning and maintaining decks and other areas of the yacht.
    • Coordinate logistics for the owner’s occasional use of the yacht, ensuring readiness and attention to detail.
    • Fully responsible for crisis management and decision-making in case of emergencies, prioritizing safety and well-being.
    • Ensure all charts, documents, and certifications are up-to-date and compliant with policies, local authorities, and international maritime law.
    • Verify that all safety equipment, including lifeboats, life rafts, watertight doors, and fire suppression systems is in proper working condition.
    • Instruct crew members on emergency duties and safety policies.
    • Ensure the yacht is seaworthy and prepared for anticipated conditions.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a captain on larger yachts
    • Proven experience with privately owned yachts used exclusively by the owner (no charters).
    • Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, navigation, and safety procedures.
    • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English; Spanish is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • A valid captain's license and all necessary certifications.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including morning, day, evening, overnight shifts, and holidays, as required.

    Location:

    Candidates must be based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, or the surrounding area. This position requires proximity to ensure the yacht’s readiness for the owner’s use a few times a year
