    Omaha Track is looking for Full-Time Yard Laborers at our Tie Grinding Facility Yard in Superior, WI. You must have the ability to pivot from task to task based on daily priorities. The Rail Yard Laborer is responsible for performing physical labor such as helping grease system and equipment, shoveling, keeping equipment clean interior and exterior and keeping yard free of debris. Keeping platforms and walk ways on grinding system clean. High energy and the ability to pivot from task to task as

    Major Areas of Responsibility

    • Utilize hand operated tools as instructed
    • Perform general maintenance and upkeep on all company property and equipment utilized
    • Participate in all job briefings and conduct proper radio communications
    • Practice proper housekeeping with clean, properly maintained vehicles, tools, and equipment
    • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures
    • Report all job site incidents and injuries to the yard manager immediately
    • Complete and maintain all required safety training and certifications
    • Adhere to all railroad and Omaha Track rules and regulations

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Previous general labor experience is a plus but is not required
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
    • Demonstrated intermediate mechanical and basic mathematical skills
    • Effective listening skills, including the ability to interpret, document, and follow oral instructions
    • Valid driver’s license preferred (must not have any major driving offenses within the last three years)
    • Demonstrate initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks

    Work Requirements

    • Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality is a must
    • Understand and accurately interpret/follow laws, rules, regulations, and other railroad/Omaha Track guidelines
    • Ability to operate a hand operated tools for prolonged periods of time
    • Ability to go up and down several stairs and be comfortable with heights
    • Ability to follow instructions to complete tasks independently or as a team
    • Ability to work outdoors in a yard environment subject to all elements and conditions
    • Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to: lifting/carrying (up to 60lbs), sitting, kneeling, climbing, standing, walking, bending, squatting, pulling, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders
