    Brown County Oral Health Partnership (OHP), located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential dental care to underserved children. We offer preventative, diagnostic, and restorative dental services to children ages 0-19, focusing on those who are uninsured or underinsured. Our services are provided at our clinic locations, in schools, and at local hospitals throughout Green Bay and the surrounding areas.

    At OHP, we are passionate about changing the lives of our community’s children by ensuring they have access to high-quality oral health care. As we continue to grow and serve our community, we are seeking a Dental Assistant Youth Apprentice to join our dedicated team.

    Position Summary

    The Dental Assistant Youth Apprentice supports clinical staff in preparing and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for child-centered care. This entry-level, hands-on position is designed for students interested in exploring a career in dental or healthcare professions, especially those with a passion for serving the community. Under close supervision, the apprentice will gain exposure to dental assisting, public health practices, infection control, and the unique needs of pediatric patients.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist in setting up, resetting, and breaking down operatories for patient care in a way that is safe, welcoming, and child-friendly

    Sterilize instruments and disinfect dental equipment and surfaces according to infection control protocols

    Stock and organize dental supplies and materials

    Greet and interact positively with young patients and their families

    Observe pediatric dental procedures, including behavior management and education techniques

    Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic safety policies

    Participate in staff meetings and educational sessions as required

    Assist with other duties as needed

    Qualifications

    Current high school student (junior or senior)

    Interest in pursuing a career in dental, healthcare, or public health careers

    Enjoys working with children and is comfortable in a pediatric setting

    Compassionate, respectful, and dependable

    Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn

    Strong communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations

    Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and privacy in a healthcare setting

    Must meet eligibility requirements for participation in a youth apprenticeship program

    Preferred (but not required)

    Experience volunteering or working with children or in community service

    Enrollment in a dental assistant or health sciences course

    CPR or First Aid certification

    Bilingual in English/Spanish or another language commonly spoken in the community
