Youth Engagement Coordinator - Scholars
Job description
The Youth Engagement Coordinator works onsite at Foster High School in Tukwila and focuses on re-engaging students through ABC-focused attendance, behavior, and coursework, with an emphasis on high school/GED completion, post-secondary education, and/or career paths. This role involves connecting scholars and families to necessary services and providing activities and projects to build self-confidence, cultural identities, histories, and youth leadership. The Youth Engagement Coordinator collaborates with schools to establish strength-based wraparound services that support scholars' success in the school environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1+ years’ experience working with “opportunity” or “at-risk” youth.
Knowledge of the Seattle Public School system
Ability to work with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
Proven ability to build relationships and trust quickly.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, when necessary, consistent with the demands of the students and schools.
Successful candidates must have access to reliable transportation, an essential requirement for this position.
Punctuality.
High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field preferred.
ULMS Total Compensation
