    Job Title: Youth Prevention Specialist

    Location: Fort Bend County, FBRC’s Prevention Services Department

    You’ll be dedicating 100% of your time to FBRC’s Prevention Services Department, becoming a key player in shaping a brighter future for our youth.

    Get Ready to Shine:

    This role requires a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or an Associate Prevention Specialist (APS) designation, or a commitment to start earning this credential with 18 months of hire. Dive into our Professional Development Plan and watch your skills and credentials soar!

    Your Exciting Responsibilities:

    Engage & Educate: Deliver fun, curriculum-based prevention education and skills training for children and teens in your assigned schools.

    Plan Awesome Activities: Coordinate and implement exciting community and school-based alternative activities for youth, including our legendary FBRC summer programs.

    Assess & Assist: Conduct risk and protective factor assessments, create service plans, offer counseling/referrals, and provide thorough follow-ups.

    Connect & Refer: Provide spot-on referrals to mental health or social service agencies and other community services.

    Keep Things on Track: Ensure all paperwork, record-keeping, and statistical data related to service provision are accurate and timely.

    Present & Inspire: Conduct dynamic prevention presentations in schools and the community, sparking inspiration and awareness.

    Community Involvement: Stay active in community coalitions, making a real difference in collaboration with the Prevention Director.

    What You Bring to the Table:

    CPS or APS designation, or a commitment to start earning it immediately with 18 months.

    A passion for making a difference in the lives of children and teens.

    Stellar organizational and communication skills.

    Ability to work both independently and as part of a vibrant team.

    Experience working with youth is a plus.

    Knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
