    The PAL of Delaware is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Sports Coordinator to oversee the development and implementation of our youth sports programs in Hockessin and Garfield Park location. This position also plays a crucial role in promoting physical activity and positive youth development through sports. The Youth Sports Coordinator will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants, ensuring that our programs offer valuable experiences that foster teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills among young athletes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of youth sports, as well as effective management and organizational skills to lead coaches and volunteers. This role requires strong communication abilities to collaborate with parents, community organizations, and school officials to promote our programs and their benefits. Additionally, the Youth Sports Coordinator will be responsible for developing budgets, securing necessary resources, and evaluating program effectiveness to continuously enhance offerings.     Responsibilities:

    Design and implement comprehensive youth sports programs that encourage participation and promote physical fitness.

    Recruit, train, and supervise coaches and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery.

    Develop and manage budgets for youth sports initiatives, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability.

    Coordinate schedules for practices, games, and special events, ensuring proper facility use and logistics.

    Establish partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and parents to promote youth sports programs and events.

    Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, gathering feedback to make improvements and adjustments as necessary.

    Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices, prioritizing the well-being of all participants.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing youth sports programs or related activities.

    Strong understanding of child development and the unique aspects of working with youth in sports.

    Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire coaches, staff, and volunteers.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with youth, parents, and community members.

    Ability to develop and manage budgets, with a strong focus on financial stewardship.

    Certified in CPR/First Aid and familiarity with safety regulations in recreational programs.(If not certified PAL of Delaware would pay for the certification)

    Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and Social Media.
