In addition to operating CMM this position is critical to review launch of new programs and to assist with the ISO implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- CMM Programming:
- Develop and optimize measurement programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using Zeiss Calypso software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to create measurement routines that accurately capture dimensional data.
- Utilize advanced features and capabilities of CMM software to automate measurement processes, improve efficiency, and minimize programming time.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand component requirements, inspection criteria, and any special measurement considerations.
- CMM Operation:
- Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform accurate dimensional inspections on manufactured components.
- Load components onto the CMM, select appropriate measuring probes and fixtures, and execute programmed measurement routines.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify conformance to quality standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor CMM equipment during operation, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Quality Assurance:
- Generate comprehensive inspection reports documenting measurement results, deviations from specifications, and any non-conformities found during inspections.
- Analyze measurement data and collaborate with quality engineers and production teams to identify root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Adhere to established quality procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain consistency and reliability in inspection processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, metrology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in CMM programming and operation in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
- Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., Calypso) for programming measurement routines and analyzing measurement data.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, CAD models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and metrology principles.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex measurement data and identify discrepancies or non-conformities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to established procedures and standards.
