    Job Summary

    As the Assistant Vice President of Operations, you will oversee all departments and operational office locations, ensuring that each area is running smoothly; efficient. You will be expected to provide leadership and be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the area of opening checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposits, individual retirement accounts and the Customer Acquisition & Growth Strategy (CAG) Program. You will perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) under the guidance of the BSA Officer. You will be responsible for assisting the managers/supervisors with scheduling and supervising the activities of the tellers, providing a resource for situational resolutions and assigning duties to the managers/supervisors to ensure efficient function of the department. You will act as the Branch Office Manager in the absence of the Branch Manager.

    Essential Functions

    • · Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
    • Provides day-to-day oversight, direction, coaching, mentoring, motivation and professional development to staff.
    • Leads in the implementation of operational changes to support new products and recommends changes to more efficiently and effectively support services offered.
    • Recommends and implements operational procedures and system utilization.
    • Identifies operational inefficiencies and collaborates with staff to resolve or improve them.
    • Serves as a communication link between all departments, branches and leadership to ensure the branches are informed of initiatives and other pertinent information.
    • Leads the monthly Operations meeting.
    • Attends the monthly ALCO meetings, DDA Compliance meetings, Manager’s meetings and Officers’ meetings.
    • Attends the bi-monthly teller meetings.
    • Conducts 4x2 Conversation Discussions, performance evaluations, that are timely and constructive for all Branch Managers and Supervisors.
    • Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with Bank policy.
    • Assists managers/supervisors as needed.
    • Weekly branch visits to observe the operational performance and functions at each location.
    • Monitors proof corrections, teller corrections and combined reconcilement daily; assists Branch Managers/Supervisors with staff to resolve out of balance situations and to improve accuracy as needed.
    • Perform all teller, bookkeeping and new account representative duties, as needed.
    • Functions as Bank Secrecy Officer alternate and completes daily BSA reporting and compliance checks.
    • Remains knowledgeable of Bank’s products and services and explains to customers accurately.
    • Performs follow-up with customers.
    • Routinely provides customers with necessary information and troubleshoot customer issues.
    • Resolves problems or discrepancies concerning customers’ accounts.
    • Be familiar with customers’ resources to be able to assist customers.
    • Maintains overall responsibility for all aspects of banking, including the implementation of strategies and the establishment of goals to achieve growth, profit, operational efficiency and customer service objectives.
    • Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning performance improvement plans and reviews, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
    • Assists with the opening and closing of branch offices, as needed.
    • Participates in community involvement activities outside of the Bank.
    • Follows, ensures and supports the Bank’s policies and procedures are followed consistently and accurately.
    • Positively represents the Bank’s culture and values.
    • Uses the Bank’s systems to monitor efficiency and productivity.
    • Assists with issues relating to policies, procedures, product knowledge, service delivery and problem resolution.
    • Serves as an advocate for a workplace that welcomes, supports and celebrates diversity, inclusion and social responsibility.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    Education

    • · High School diploma or GEG required.
    • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent preferred from an accredited college or university; a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum of two to three years of supervisory experience required.
    • Minimum of three years banking experience, specifically in teller operations preferred.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and make effective presentations to banking officials and community leaders.
    • Thorough understanding of banking services, customers, procedures, and policies.

    • Must be able to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.

    Other Requirements

    • · Flexibility with hours and days, as applicable to branch.
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to lift 10-50 pounds.
    • Ability to hear normal conversations and receive information and converse with others.
    • Requires regular travel throughout the assigned district.
    • Will utilize a computer to perform daily duties and to prepare documents, using dexterity and hands for typing, physically moving and handling documents, etc.
    • Ability to follow detailed and general instructions; basic math skills.
    • In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, the employee will maintain knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.
