UX Front End Developer - Cincinnati, Ohio

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include producing, modifying, and maintaining Digital web solutions for our clients using front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. The Front-End Developer will translate the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with members of the Digital team and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as, AngularJS, BackboneJS, NodeJS, Dojo
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial, SVN
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
• Comprehensive understanding of user interface technologies and user centered design concepts
• An extensive understanding of how to implement accessible, usable and innovative graphical user interfaces for dynamic, database-driven web experiences
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate user-centered design principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces
• Content Management System (CMS) framework experience: i.e. Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, Magneto, Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.
• Experience integrating web analytics packages
• Proficient in the integration of rich media assets such as audio, video and Flash
• Ability to use AJAX with HTML, XML and JSON data types, including the ability to connect via AJAX to web-service APIs
• Understanding of how to create, update, retrieve, or delete data records via SQL
• Knowledge of HTML e-mail best practices
• Understanding of mobile web development and/or responsive web
