    Job Title: Lead Teacher - Infant Room

    Job Summary: The Lead Teacher in the Infant Room is responsible for the care, education, and developmental progress of infants in a child care setting. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where infants can grow and thrive. The Lead Teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, document developmental milestones, and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Child Care and Supervision:
    • Provide attentive and responsive care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
    • Supervise and engage infants in age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
    1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with infants' developmental needs and Learning experience requirements, incorporating activities that foster growth in all developmental domains.
    • Use various teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
    1. Documentation and Assessment:
    • Observe and document each infant's developmental progress, including milestones and any concerns.
    • Maintain accurate records of each child's activities, routines, and developmental achievements.
    • Conduct regular assessments and prepare reports for parents and administrative staff.
    1. Parent Communication and Involvement:
    • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
    • Provide parent-teacher conferences to discuss developmental milestones and address any questions or concerns.
    • Encourage and facilitate parent involvement in the classroom.
    1. Professionalism and Ethics:
    • Adhere to all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
    • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of children, families, and staff.
    • Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with children, parents, and colleagues.
    1. Continuous Development and Reflective Practices:
    • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
    • Engage in reflective practices to continuously improve teaching methods and classroom management.
    1. Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and volunteers in the classroom.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR level 4 and above on the Oklahoma Registry.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
    • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications may be required based on state regulations.
    • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for infants.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry infants and young children.
    • Ability to sit on the floor and engage in activities with infants.
    • Ability to respond quickly to the needs of infants in a fast-paced environment.
