JOB SUMMARY
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Minimum completion of a BA/BS degree in marketing or
communications
CERTIFICATION: Google AdWords
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in search engine marketing,
some digital marketing preferred
REQUIREMENTS
- A seasoned Paid search professional with a minimum of 5 years of
experience
- Previous experience in growing/building out a search department and
developing junior staff is preferred
- Deep understanding of search engine marketing, how paid and organic
search work together, and how search fits into the overall digital
media mix
- Strong knowledge of, and relationships with, key search engines and
search technology providers is also key
- An in-depth understanding of marketing forecasting, search planning,
implementation and performance analysis
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of paid search bid management
tools and technologies (DART, Kenshoo, Marin, etc.). Experience with
Google Analytics and/or other third-party analytics programs
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of both Google and Bing
user interfaces and associated offline editor software
- Experience with Google Shopping feeds and product ads is preferred
but not required.
- A self-starter with efficient time management and strong
problem-solving skills.
- Financial acumen with regard to budgeting, projections and
revenue metrics.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; commercially
oriented, confident, outgoing, articulate, persuasive, along with a
strong work ethic
- Excellent organizational, negotiation and analytical skills-with
strong attention to detail
- Experience collaborating with a large account team working on
multimedia channels
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Senior Paid Search Manager will serve as the lead on assigned
agency search accounts and be responsible for translating clients'
business goals into successful search engine marketing strategies
and programs
- Responsible for ongoing performance analysis and campaign
optimizations to meet/exceed client KPIs and business goals (e.g.,
non-brand efficiencies, ad scheduling, device/location/setting
optimization, media mix, value of paid search customer, etc.)
- Ability to mentor and lead the overall paid search campaign life
cycle, including campaign management, analytics, optimization and
reporting
- Ability to clearly articulate a point-of-view around Paid search
topics, industry trends and ways to leverage them against client and
agency objectives
- Works closely with other subject matter experts within core digital
channels including social media, digital marketing, offline media,
analytics and creative
- Ability to present to and educate clients on search engine marketing
principles, tactics and strategies on varying levels based on client
knowledge and needs
- Work with clients to better integrate online marketing channels and
on-site promotions, to ensure optimal timing, consistent messaging
and superior customer experience
- Lead junior search marketing staff with a focus on development and
education of associates.
- Identify additional search channels and tactics that assist in
achieving client marketing objectives
- Support client services and provide direction to teams
- Support new business development and contribute to pitches as
necessary
- Manage and meet internal and external client expectations, as well
as deliverables and deadlines.
- Execute best practice strategies and methodologies to maximize
agency search marketing programs
- Execute competitive research utilizing comprehensive tool sets
