SENIOR APPLICATION ARCHITECT

As an Application Architect you will be a key member of the architecture team focused on the end
to end functionality of the entire ITC Communications System. Responsibilities include working
with customers to understand their needs, creation of conceptual designs for solutions to those
needs, resolution to design and technology issues throughout the project realization, and driving
the technical aspects of the overall integration test strategy and plans.
Major Duties:
Participate in the gathering and clarification of requirements and use cases for end to end
system functionality (may require travel to customer locations).
Create conceptual design solutions that will balance customer goals and needs with
technical constraints.
Identify and resolve system level issues, especially those that cross sub-system boundaries.
Support a change control process throughout the product lifecycle.
Identify and coordinate the resolution of emergent issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure design integrity of the end to end system solution.
Drive the high-level test strategy and support creation of integration test plans.
Clearly communicate designs and changes to technical teams including engineering, testing,
and customer organizations.
Supervisory Requirements
Perform tasks listed above under minimal supervision. Receive general direction from principal
systems architect and program manager.
Authority and Responsibility
Has authority to make decisions within the scope of the tasks assigned as long as they conform
to the guidelines of the principal systems architect and program manager. Suggestions for new
ideas and new ways of doing things are welcomed and will be considered, but are subject to
management approval.
Essential:
Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
7+ years experience working as a software architect.
Detailed understanding of messaging middleware and system management applications.
Knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, and other communication protocols.
Aptitude to learn new technologies quickly and desire to excel.
Well-honed analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Proven skill in creation of conceptual design solutions.
Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work well with engineers and technical people.
Demonstrated ability to present to executive level.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
4+ years of experience with communications system development.
