Job Summary: The Disney Accelerator is designed to accelerate business development opportunities withgrowth-stage startups from around the world. 6-10 startups will be selected for a four-monthprogram that will immerse them in The Walt Disney Company. The program begins in thesummer and concludes with a Demo Day in the fall.The LA-based program is open to growth stage venture-backed tech startups with a vision formaking an impact on the future of media and entertainment. The Disney Accelerator providesparticipating companies with investment capital and access to top Disney business units andtheir executives in an effort to foster commercial relationships.Since the Disney Accelerator started in 2014, companies from across the US, Europe and Asiahave participated in building the future of media and entertainment with technologies, as diverseas robotics, AI, wearables, messaging and AR/VR. They include such companies as EpicGames, Kahoot! And BYJUs. Responsibilities: Support the Disney Accelerator operation with aspects of operating the program bothlogistically and functionally (e.g., scheduling, set up, hosting)Participate in tech community outreachAssist with key event operations (e.g., Demo Day, open house, speaker events)Prepare program materials, including a variety of presentation materials for theInnovation teamAssist with evaluation of industry research on technologies and markets with thepotential to impact and/or disrupt the future of media and entertainmentWork closely with participating startups across various strategic and tactical areas, asneeded (e.g., business planning, market mapping, presentation drafting, financialmodeling, market sizing, revenue and user forecasting, product road mapping, userresearch)Basic Qualifications: Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environmentHighly organized personStrong communication skillsComfort wearing multiple hats in a very flat organizationComfort mastering new software and skills for the task at handMust be proficient in Zoom, Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and KeynotePreferred Qualifications:Passion for startups, venture investing and technologyAbility to prepare presentation materialsAbility to work with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similarAbility to develop data analysis/financial modelsRequired EducationMust be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.Additional Information:The approximate dates of this internship are May 2022 through January 2023Must be available to work full time hours during the summer, part time in the fallMust be able to provide quiet work space and reliable internet connectionMust be able to come into the LA-based office easily, as neededMust not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship orprogram.Must possess unrestricted work authorizationMust be at least 18 years of age This employer is a corporate member of myGwork - LGBTQ+ professionals, the business community for LGBTQ+ professionals, students, inclusive employers & anyone who believes in workplace equality.
