Applications Engineer 2 is a mid-level engineering role focused on laser material processing experiments conducted at nLIGHT’s applications labs as well as at external customer and partner facilities. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar engineering function, ideally in an industrial environment. Applications Engineer 2 will be responsible for designing, executing, documenting, analyzing, and presenting detailed application experiments to internal and external customers including executive management. This role requires excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to build productive internal and external working relationships. Expected growth areas for this role are advancing expertise in an applications subspecialty, individual ownership of applications support for specific customers, involvement in new business development for key customers, and publishing/presenting on laser applications at technical conferences and trade shows.
