    Godwin, a Xylem brand, offers a broad product line of fully automatic self-priming pumps used in temporary and permanent applications.  With a full range of diesel and electric pumps available to purchase or rent, Godwin pumps are used for dewatering and liquids transfer in mining, constructions, municipal and industrial projects around the world.

    THE ROLE: The Level I Regional Applications Engineer will expand the sale and rental of Godwin Dri-Prime® equipment by assisting sales, service and operations with equipment selection, pumping system design and troubleshooting technical issues. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare submittal documents for customers.
    • Develop pump layout drawings in AutoCAD.
    • Prepare hydraulic calculations to determine pump performance.
    • Provide assistance to field technicians during job startups.
    • Review product specifications to select pump related equipment.
    • Troubleshoot performance issues with rental equipment.
    • Perform job walks with sales personnel and answer technical questions for employees and customers
    • Assist with pump performance testing.
    • Complete Pumps 101 training.
    • Participate in 8 week apprenticeship in mechanical shop activities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

    • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mining or Civil)
    • Zero to four years of experience in related field; experience within construction, industrial, municipal or mining industries preferred
    • Knowledge of fluid hydraulics fundamentals
    • Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams
    • General knowledge of diesel engines, electric motors and centrifugal pumps
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently with initiative in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
    • Proficiency with 2D or 3D CAD modeling MathCAD and Microsoft Office
    • Ability to travel frequently with little notice and for extended periods of time
    • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred

    • Shop/Job Site: Intermittent exposure to job site conditions; e.g., gas fields, petrochemical refineries, mills, mines, construction sites, industrial/power plants, waste water treatment plants, etc.; intermittent exposure to shop noise and fumes.
    • Office: Standard office equipment; work performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.
    • Travel:  As required to fulfill the duties listed above. The regional engineer will be required to travel to home office in NJ 2x per year for 1 week to work with home office engineering department. Will also need to travel to branches in region 1-2 times per month, or as projects require. Other travel as needed or required by the company.
