THE ROLE: Xylem Analytics seeks a highly motivated, pro-active, detail
oriented Sales Representative who possesses strong communication skills.
The successful candidate has a professional demeanor and the ability to
ensure the sales process is well orchestrated in assigned geographic
area supporting Surface Water Analytical Instrumentation with previous
experience in areas of Water Quality, Acoustic Doppler Technology,
Currents, Waves, Discharge, Data Collection and Telemetry equipment and
applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Achieve Sales Goal
- Develop territory business plan
- Develop Sales and Marketing strategy for the territory
- Maintain and report detailed sales forecast for territory
- Meet sales, profit, and budget targets
- On-going analysis of competition and appropriate adjustments of
plans
- On-going segmentation analysis within territory
- Develop and maintain relationships with influencers and key
organizations
- Provide equipment training and installation support
- Support Team
- Support specialty and major dealers as required
- Promote WQ products within territory
- Responsible for defined sales, profit and budget performance for
given territory
- Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the territory that
ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Delivers accurate monthly forecast verses plan.
- Maintains accurate sales pipeline information through company’s CRM
system
- Build the Business -- Ability to win new business while defining the
strategy for how to grow new business
- Account Planning -- Prioritizing accounts based on economics,
potential, and the segmentation process, and then executing account
strategy
- Customer Intimacy -- Demonstrates knowledge of the customer's

what tools and selling approaches are appropriate for the particular
account

- Pre Sales Strategy -- Recognizing customer needs and gaps in the
selling opportunity and adjusting accordingly to always ensure the
"last look"
- Post-Sales Support -- Monitors the post-sale process for potential
issues
- Solution Selling -- Creating compelling solutions for customers that
address their needs
- Technical Acumen -- Assimilates and synthesizes technical
information quickly from multiple sources and demonstrates ongoing
curiosity about technical developments in the field
- Foresight -- Is detailed and systematic in addressing (internal
or external) customer/partner issues and opportunities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with previous sales experience related to
environmental sciences, biology, geology, hydrology, or oceanology
preferred or any equivalent combination of acceptable training
and experience.
- Knowledge of water quality equipment application.
- Negotiation and selling skills
- Effective written and oral presentation skills
- High level of comfort working with a wide variety of people in a
variety of settings
- Ability to multi-task through use of tools such as personal
computer, telephones, and e-mail; and the ability to apply the
knowledge of like or similar events into new situations
- Follow through on communications and responsibilities
- There will be at least 50% overnight travel by car and plane.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- This position will also be required to set up trade show booths
- Personally confident and able to interact with all types of people.
- They will have a successful history of problem solving/solution
finding, listening and understanding business and equipment related
issues, and be comfortable and capable in addressing large groups
of people.
- This position will require the balancing of multiple priorities in
an environment with the potential for fast-moving periods of
high activity.
