FACILITY SECURITY OFFICER/PROGRAM SECURITY SPECIALIST
The Facility Security Officer/Program Security Specialist will provide
industrial and program security support on all aspects of Government
security requirements. This unique position will be required to support
both the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and Intelligence
Community (IC) programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and provide assistance with personnel, program, and physical
security, as well as security education and training awareness
program
- Assists employees with preparation of security clearance and Govt.
site badging paperwork using the Electronic Questionnaires for
Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system. Serve as site focal point
for Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) in support of the
Home Office Facility (HOF)
- Conduct pre-travel and post-travel security briefings
- Perform initial security clearance briefings and debriefings, as
well as other briefings in support of the security education program
- Investigate security incidents and make recommendations for remedial
action to HOF FSO
- Maintains a database of cleared employees, active consultants and
subcontracting companies, numerous site badges issued, access
rosters, etc.
- Prepares and keeps hardcopy and electronic personnel security files
for cleared employees and consultants up to date
- Coordinates additional security requirements such as prescreening,
polygraphs, CAC, badge request/renewals, and special
access indoctrinations/debriefings. This entails interfacing
regularly with government agencies, subcontractors, and candidates
- Processes incoming and outgoing Visit Requests for classified visits
- Manage and control access to secure area(s)
- Change lock combinations and operate Intrusion Detection
System (IDS)
- Responds as On-Call person for alarm activations in SpaceX
facilities
- Responsible for maintaining accountability of all incoming/outgoing
classified documents
- Provides courier authorizations to employees and briefings as needed
- Prepares reports and notifications to appropriate government
agencies as required by applicable government regulations
- Conduct self-inspections and assist with Government inspections and
site visits
- Keeps senior security management and the HOF apprised of any
security deficiencies or potential problem areas
- Attend and support to various customer meetings and working groups
- Support to SpaceX Insider Threat Program
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years of combined security related experience working at a
corporate level of a Government contractor or Government employee
(civilian or military), preferably requiring interaction with
various Government agencies in both the collateral and
SCI environments.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with standard computer software applications (word
processing, spreadsheets, database, email), e.g. Microsoft Office
- Experience with handling multiple concurrent workflows and meet
competing deadlines that may require quick turnaround
- Strong knowledge of NISPOM, IC directives, and other security policy
and procedures
- Practical experience in managing secure facilities under NISPOM
- Experience with JPAS
- Experience with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) programs
- FSO Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- OPSEC and Anti-Terrorism (AT) training experience
- COMSEC Management
- Program Protection Planning and Launch Security support
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and
Vandenberg
- Must be willing to travel up to 15%
- Position is subject to random drug, polygraph, physical fitness, and
alcohol testing.
- Must be able to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph
test
- Valid Driver’s license
