FIRMWARE ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, integrate, and maintain software on both existing and
next-generation satellite modems
- Collaborate with Modem ASIC and networking teams to deliver the best
performing modem into our satellite and consumer terminal products
- Design and develop system emulators and test harnesses for system
level verification
- Assist in lab PCB bring-up and low-level board testing/debugging
- Be the point of contact for the modem team to the overall platform
integration team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer
science, or computer engineering
- 5+ years of direct experience in C/C++ programming, and shell
scripting such as PERL, AWK, SED, BASH.
- 3+ years experience in building firmware and system testbeds
- 2+ years of experience with real time operating systems such as
VXWORKS or RTLINUX
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Masters of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer
science, or computer engineering
- Ability to understand, design and enhance embedded modem fw - data
and control plane aspects, calibration aspects and rf drivers etc.
- Ability to bring up platforms with FPGA, ASIC and other kinds of IP
- Experience with arm cortex family of microprocessors
- Ability to write test infrastructure to do daily build checking,
automated regression tests etc.
- Experience with source code management (git), unit test, code
review, and issue tracking systems
- Ability to write and maintain debug and test tools
- Ability to work with platform and platform integration team for
firmware delivery, issue tracking and resolution etc.
- Experience with low-level debugging tools (e.g. Logic analyzers,
oscilloscopes, jtag debuggers).
- Experience with LTE / LTE-A, WCDMA, 11, or bluetooth modems
- Passion for product excellence and quality
- Experience with matlab

must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S.,
protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible
